BROADRAMP EXPANDS OPERATIONS TO CANADA

Offers content owners a low-cost, end-to-end, online delivery solution

SAN ANTONIO, Feb. 14, 2008 -- BroadRamp Inc., creator of the Managed Content Delivery System™ for high-quality multimedia viewing via the Internet, today announced it has established offices in Edmonton, Alberta, to license its technology throughout Canada. BroadRamp’s MCDS™ contains delivery technology that results in instant-on, high-definition, secure, low-cost transmission of virtually any kind of content to a browser-enabled device. MCDS™ allows content owners to encode, manage, monetize and deliver their content using widely available standard formats like Windows Media and Flash. The result is rich multimedia and a superior user experience. “By making our technology available in Canada, we are offering Canadian content producers the means to deliver their products at very high quality, far more economically than other streaming content providers can,” said Greg Nakagawa, CEO of BroadRamp. The market for BroadRamp’s technology includes all content providers that want to use the Internet to publish video and multimedia content -- either audio lectures, textbooks, magazines, manuals, documents, movies, television, music videos, advertisements and Web sites.

“BroadRamp’s Content Delivery System has enjoyed great success in multiple markets worldwide,” said Chief Scientific Officer Sean Darwish. “Canada is a large market with many talented content producers. We can help them take their products to the next level commercially. We continue to innovate and expand our services, and we expect that our technologies will help drive the industry for years to come.”

Marc Kronewitt was named general manager of BroadRamp Canada LP. He was CEO and co-founder of RAMP Management Group Inc., an international sports and entertainment management company with clients from four continents, including athletes from professional hockey, basketball, football, soccer, action sports and the Olympics.

“BroadRamp is a catalyst for the era of the ‘TV’ Internet, as its technology solves the dilemma of TV-quality standard vs. cost-to-deliver platform problems faced by telecommunication and cable companies and content providers,” Kronewitt said. “BroadRamp Canada is focused on differentiating Canadian content producers online through managed delivery of the highest quality streams available today. Content producers finally have an alternative to TV distribution and legacy video streaming platforms without compromising the quality, security and delivery of their content.”

Until now, applications such as streaming full-screen, high-definition films have been offered only by regulated cable and telecommunication providers. BroadRamp CDS™ compresses video up to 90% so that HDTV-quality standard content can be delivered over DSL, cable and broadband connections using only about 1 Mb/s of bandwidth. Most other providers require more than 10Mb/s of bandwidth to deliver on their networks. BroadRamp can deliver many forms of content to any browser-enabled device using broadband at a lower delivery cost and while maintaining the original quality of the content.

Considering the explosive growth of the Canadian broadband market, the opportunity is excellent for BroadRamp to become the market leader in Canada for content delivery. Today, Canada’s online population is more than 21 million and includes two-thirds of all Canadian households, giving Canada the world's ninth-largest Internet population.
